An interview with Keylane’s CEO
Dr. Robin Keira, founder and CEO at Digitalscouting, a consulting and marketing agency based in Germany, recently interviewed Keylane’s P&C CEO Ron van der Broek to gain insights into his leadership vision, the challenges of delivery, and his grand plans for Keylane’s future.
A new leadership role
At the end of 2021, Ron took over the CEO position from Ralf Timmer, bringing a strong vision to the role that favours “trust over control”.
With a “make it happen” attitude, Ron firmly believes that all colleagues should be a part of Keylane’s journey, and by giving them the responsibility to make things happen, Ron clearly sets out his vision for a flat hierarchy driven by openness.
As you will frequently hear him say: “Better to ask for forgiveness than permission”. In the full interview, Ron discusses the challenges he faced in his first two weeks as CEO, and how he quickly grew comfortable in the role once the dust had settled.
Tackling market shortages
Keylane is renowned for delivering what it promises, but market shortages present a fresh challenge that piles on the pressure to deliver. To address these issues, Ron discusses how Keylane has intensified its relationship with partner Bearingpoint, and expanded into India.
Beyond the beer drinking countries
Keylane’s area of operations traditionally focused on the beer drinking countries: The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and The Nordics. In the short to mid-term, Keylane will double down on these areas, but, looking to the long term, Ron envisions a future for Keylane beyond the beer drinking territories. However, developing robust country layers to support international ambitions takes several years of intense development, so watch this space!
